Pahela Bhaishakh

We celebrate Pahela Baishakh or the Bengali New Year's Day today. Baishakh is the first month of the Bengali calendar. Most of the events in rural Bangladesh still take place according to this calendar. It is considered to be the most auspicious month for undertaking any business venture. The first day of Baishakh remains a holiday in Bangladesh. On this day people wear new dresses and visit family and friends. A festive mood grips the entire nation. Country fair or “baishaki mela” pops up all over the place. People of all ages throng these mela’s to shop for toys, handicrafts, and sweets. Snake charmers, jugglers, and magicians mesmerize the enthusiastic crowd. Cultural programs are organized to celebrate the New Year. In the morning, processions called 'Probhat Pheri' come out with many fanfares. Young ladies in dazzling white sari’s with red borders and young men clad in punjabi perform on the road welcoming the arrival of the new year.

For girls:
Any dress with color combination of RED and WHITE (Better if Saree).

For Boyz: PAANJABI.

Yes Friends...
We are talking about inviting preparation of Bangla 1415 year.

SHUVO NOBOBORSHO to All...

--------------------------
--------------------------

Friends,
We should take the name of two great persons at the beginning of Bangla Noboborsho.

1. The Great Mughal Emperor "Jalaluddin Muhammad Akbar" for starting our Bangla calendar.

2. Bishshokobi "Rabindranath Tagore" for writing a wonderful song by singing which we invite our Noboborsho.

Guyz, remember that we are in 1415.

It is really something unbelievable and very sad that Most of us, after 3-4 months of celebrating Noboborsho forget in which Bangla year we are in.

--------------------------------------------------------

So guys,

-Have fun in Pohela Boishakh...
-Wish people "Shuvo Noboborsho"
-Have special foods at home...
-Go to different shows arranged for Boishakh with friends...
-Couples have a nice date outside...

"Because celebrating these occasions is a good way to forget daily workload and refresh your mind..."

SHUVO NOBOBORSHO to all again...
